“Homework HotlLink” is a program developed to encourage consistent
homework completion for middle school students. Its purpose is to strengthen the communication
between parents and the school so that the students will improve
homework grades, and thereby improve their averages.
There appears to be a strong correlation between homework completion and
academic achievement. More consistent homework completion is our goal.
Each day the Homework HotLink will be updated. Click on Homework
HotLink on the right side of the VMS webpage.
Parents who often receive reports that “I don’t have any homework,” or “I
did it all in school/study hall,” can check the Homework Hotlink to verify the
assignment which should be listed by the student in his/her agenda book.
Parents who need work for sick students, or those out of school for
other reasons, should also use the Homework HotLink to obtain that
information.
Assignments will be available for the CURRENT DAY ONLY. Worksheets cannot be provided,
and should be obtained from another student in the class or from the
teacher upon return to class.
Please note: The eighth-grade Homework HotLink will be available for quarters 1 and 2. By
second semester (February) students will be expected to have a homework
buddy for each class, as well as a working system for keeping track of
their assignments. Grade 8 assignments are given for the week each Monday.
Beginning in February, the grade 8 HotLink will be updated weekly
with important announcements, dates, and information regarding long term
projects. Please check weekly, especially if you do not often
receive the weekly Purple Newsletter.
